Driving went well on Tuesday, went to... Tilehurst, Theale, Pangbourne, Burghfield and Southcote... and then home! Lol, got me doing 45 mph which is bloody good for me. Did general driving and emergency stops, which are SO fun. Haha.

I've had a few normal days since then. Today and tomorrow the new Year 12's are having induction days so we're sharing the Sixth Form Centre with them. They've taken over. Lol. There's one lad coming up who I went on the German trip with in Year 10 (good times!) He's well cute for a Year 11. :P Michael Wylie he's called. Hehe, spoke to him about random crap.

Also, got my Senior Prefect badge today in assembly. Hehe, it's all shiny and blue. *Shuts up*

xxx

Well, it's Tuesday today... didn't do much over the weekend to be honest either. It's been pretty normal.

Got to miss Art first lesson because me & Kim volunteered to help take Year 9's to their injections haha. Tetnus & Polio I think it was... had Philosophy second and had a great lesson as usual. Contributed loads and had a big discussion. Asked Miss Sparks what she thought on me wanting to take Philosophy at Uni and she agrees with Mrs Shields that I should go for it, and that I'd be great. :) So I'm happy about that.

Came home 4th lesson as I've got a double free. Mr Carr wasn't there either 3rd but we had some work set. Got driving lesson later on, not really in the mood as I've got a stomach ache but once I get out and about I should be fine. Can't wait to pass (IF!)

I'll probably update later about it, but I'm off for a shower now.

xxx

Sports Day for this year was today. Mr Kennedy had nobody to be the Benyon House (my house) mascot. I volunteered and had to wear the lions outfit! Haha. It rocked, except I kept getting mistaken for a bear. Silly people... I looked like Bungle from Rainbow. It didn't help that Mrs Lobley trod on my tail and it ripped off. :( Was so boiling in the suit! But Jo kept giving me her ice pack.

Hehe, it was great team spirit and I had to keep getting our house to cheer with mexican waves etc. Jak & Bruno helped with their pom poms lmao! Was hilarious. We really got em' going and I'm so glad I did it. Made a complete fool out of myself but had fun doing it.

All the teachers gave me loads of sympathy because I was so hot, and gave me a pat on the back. Lol. Miss Sparks even said 'fair play to ya lucy!' Lmao, she makes me laugh.

But yea, we only came third overall... but it's the taking part that counts.
Thought I'd bore you with another talk on my driving lesson. Was in a really good mood, very positive which helped.

Went to Whitley again, and it all went very smoothly - my starts and stops are getting quicker and I'm getting more confident slowly. Did 2 reverse round corners, one which was down hill (needed a lot of clutch control!) and then two turns in the road... which were ok, except I had loads of cars waiting either side for me. Lol.

I started driving back and it was going great until I brought the clutch up too quickly and stalled... for the first time that lesson. It hit me so bad, I got all frustrated and stressed out. She calmed me down, and told to stop stressing and I was fine in the end.

Practice makes perfect I guess. School was alright today, didn't really do much as I had two frees last (went home haha).

Art was first and we just had to research and pick our artist. In the end I chose a guy called Desmond Morris. He's a surrealist and deals with like random coloured blobs almost! Tis really cool.

Philosophy was second and we discussed again... etc. Normal stuff. Lol, can't be bothered to explain. Was really good though.

Geography, I thought I was gonna fall asleep in. He talked for the WHOLE lesson. Not even about Geography! I could feel my eyes slowly closing. The only good thing he asked us to do was to get into pairs (boy&girl) haha. We had to think of 3 things to take on a desert island. :S For some reason... seeing as it's A Level Geography. Lmao. I went with Michael, bless him.

Watching Big Brother now and Lost at 10.

xxx

    <lj:music>Grease 2 - Score Tonight</lj:music>

Last time I updated this was last Tuesday after driving, so thought I'd do a quick update as I'm bored.

I've had a pretty plain last week off, doing nothing - just chilling really. Been online most days chatting to Gem, hehe. Watched the England match last night, was class. What a goal by our very own David Beckham. I thought we played pretty well, considering our lack of players and the injuries/sicknesses we kept having. 1-0 though! We're through to the quarter finals anyway.

Went back to school today after 2 weeks from exams. Had all my lessons and a free. Was also told in assembley that we don't have to go to Critical Thinking or Enrichment lessons anymore. Yaay. So that's 2 more frees each week until the summer hols anyway.

Had Geography first as Mr Carr didn't turn up until the end of the lesson so we got set a sheet by Miss Clarke (patronising cow!).

Had a Free second and finished the sheet in the library. Boring.

Art was third and I've been told until summer we've got to work on a slideshow project on an artist, and then present it to the rest of the class! Wahey... (sarcasic tone there btw)

Tech was fourth and for some strange reason he was making us sand these products for him. They were multi-coloured though and looked really pretty! They were for the exhibition I think.

Philosophy was last, which was fun as usual. Found out most of the class think they need to retake the exam! Nobody seems to be taking it either which shocked Miss Sparks a bit. We had a big discussion on situations on free will. Was really great, got into it and it really made me think.

Got absolutely drenched from the rain non stop all day though! Ah well. I'll live. Double free tomorrow so can come home. Yay.

xxx

Had a pretty normal day yesterday, had to look after Jack half the day as he came home ill from school. Had driving in the evening was really nervous for some reason, but Gem kept reassuring me I'd be fine and I was so thankyou baby. I did a turn in the road all by myself, and handled roundabouts, and we did reversing round a corner which wasn't bad either.

Jean said that next lesson we're focusing on speed. Haha. So I shouldn't be too nervous for that one, as it's pretty straight forward and I'm fab at the gears now. :P

Jack stayed off again today as he's still not himself, he's got a really high temperature. I was meant to go into Art to help take the exhibition down, but had to look after Jack instead. Did house work for Mum as she's been getting stressy about how little I do, which is fair enough.

Two more days left until I go back to school. :( Well, two week days anyway... go back on Monday. To be honest, I'm quite looking forward to seeing everybody again. Usually I can't be bothered, but I think it's because of the lack of things to do when I'm off school.

Watched Big Brother last night, but not Lost as I'd seen it the week before on E4. (Was a great ep though, loved it! J&K and S&K were really cute too, and Michael & Walt :o) But yea, BB... I felt SO sorry for Nikki. Poor thing. I'm so glad Lisa, Imogen, Mikey & Nikki are up. It gives Nikki a bigger chance of staying. I want Lisa to go, but I'd be happy with Imogen or Mikey too as they're just boring me.

xxx

Had fun this morning. Me, Jo, Danielle & Kim went in to help with the Year 6 Open Morning thing. It's just a change for everyone from Benyon House to get to know each other. We found that Jak & Bruno were there too and so we had more Sixth Formers than we thought.

It was really good though, everyone got on really well and were talking amongst themselves. We did some daft activities and went out onto the field for break where Jak organised a huge game of football. Haha. My brother's school was meant to be there too except they're away on a trip to the New Forest, so they're having their day on Wednesday. Won't be as good though.

Me, Jo, Jak & Bruno stayed the longest as Kim had to go to Art, and Danielle had a driving theory test. (Will be me soon!!) We took half to their first introduction lesson which was Science (boring!) and then to History after (boring toooo!). We left just when they had lunch so yep, was good. :) I know quite a few names of my House anyway which is good as I'm a Senior Prefect and apparently need to get interacting with Year 7's. :P Hehe.

Me & Jo walked and got the bus home from Savacentre and here I am. Haha. But it went well, considering I was quite worried it would go really wrong.

xxx

Hey! Went to Thorpe Park today with Danielle, Jo, Tannith, Helen, Kayley & Charlotte. It was great fun and I love TP. It rocks.

I'm gonna go through all the rides I went on, see if I can remember em'.

Colossus - They only got me on this once as I'm not a huge fan of it. It's great once you're on, but it's the waiting I hate. I get all nervous and on the corkscrew bit I really feel like I'm gonna fall out of my seat because they don't click down tight enough. It was ok though.

Nemesis Inferno - Went on this 6 times! Haha it's just so amazing. Probably my favourite ride in the park. It's such a smooth rollercoaster but it's so fast. Helen dragged me to the front which was even better than the back. It went much faster and you can see everything! Love it. We went on it 3 times in a row when nobody was up there. Class.

X:\No Way Out - Has actually got really shit to be honest. Backwards rollercoaster in the dark... used to be fab! It's got shorter and slower I swear... it was just, disappointing. Went on it twice though.

Chief Ranger's Carousel - HAHA! OMFG it was SO funny! It is the most shit ride ever and is like a baby's carousel but we went on it for a laugh. Little did I know Helen had asked the woman to announce 'Congratulations to Lucy on her engagement to Mark Collins!' Our friggin' Geography teacher who she bums!

Depth Charge - Great. Got soaked and beat Tannith haha. We had a race down. Even though I kinda got sprayed.

Logger's Leap - Best log flume ever. Lmao. Went on it twice, the first time was good cos I was at the back and hardly got wet. The second time, Kayley made me go at the front and I was literally wedged in between her legs. I couldn't move and had nothing to hold onto! I got absolutely soaked too because they all ducked behind me so I got the full blast!

Miss Hippo's Fungle Safari - OMG! This was also a children's ride but was hilarious as loads of teenagers were on it for a laugh. We were just driving round in these little car things.

Mr Monkeys Banana Ride - Haha, banana boat. Wicked.

Ribena Rumba Rapids - I always get drenched! It's always me. Fell over in the boat and landed on me ass in the middle. *lol*

Storm in A Teacup - Teacuuuups. Lmao, they actually go well fast.

Also, 2-0 to England! Wooooo! ENGLAAAAAAAAAND! Hehe. :D Class. Well done lads!

xxx

Was quite a boring one. Haven't really done much to be honest. Watched Grease 2 again haha.

The family who lives behind us, the Lyons family are known for getting in quite a bit of trouble. There's 5 kids and most of em' are a lot of trouble. Emma, George, Hayley, Jack & Harry. I went to primary school with George as he's my age. He knocked this morning (as they keep doing) as our gardens are opposite and they keep kicking balls over. He wanted me to chuck a few back. I never realised how cute he actually is, and he's really polite considering his family. He was sat in his tree directing me to which balls had been kicked over. Haha.

Anyway... just been with Mum to pick Jack up and now I'm here. I'm supposed to be going to Thorpe Park with the guys tomorrow, but nobody's let me know what's happening. I've just found out from Helen we've got to be at the station for 8am!!! That's just ridiculous... I'm going to have to be up so early, and plus transport is gonna be really expensive plus the ticket to get in. *Sighs* Oh well.

xxx

Went to help out at my school's year 6 Opening Evening last night. Me, Jo & Danielle were touring families round the school, was quite cool. We got free drinks and biscuits so ya know. Haha.

Me, Kat & Danielle slept over at Jo's last night. Well, I say that... we were in her tent in the back garden. However, it was really good and I slept really well considering. We went into town today. Bought us all a Pizza Hut which I'll probably regret later, but I felt generous. Hehe. Got caught in the rain and was absolutely drenched!

Had my fourth driving lesson today, which went great. My best one yet. Only stalled twice in the two hours and I'm getting much better at the clutch control and breaking, and roundabouts etc. We did reversing today in a straight line, which is harder than it seems. Also, I did a full turn in a road which I did twice on my own and twice with Jean's help. That was quite easy after a few go's.

It went well though. :) Hehe.
Feminism

I've read a few rants and opinions on this topic now and my brain's overflowing now. There's so many different concepts in different people's heads and I just need to let it out here. I've already said I can't write as strongly as some people too and this will probably be only a couple of sentences.

I believe personally, that any woman should have the freedom to do as they please. As one myself, I know I like my freedom to choose and take the action forward. The idea of using one's body has nothing to do with me really because I don't generally do this... because I'm not happy with my body, but that's going off topic. To be honest, I think we can do as we please. If people want to flirt etc. let them... there's nothing wrong with it. I'd like to express my opinion through lyrics to a song. I'm only picking a few out which need to be said, but I always listen to this song to make me feel better. It just makes so much logical sense. We only live once.

- Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded.

- But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked.

- Remember compliments you receive, forget the insults.

- Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself, either. Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.

- Enjoy your body, use it every way you can. Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.

That's all. All I have to say. Hopefully the lyrics speak for themselves.

It's Sunday and the sun is shining still. Woke up this morning with hot sweats, it was horrible but I've cooled down a bit now.

Went to Prospect Park on Friday for a picnic with Danielle, Jo & Kat. Was good fun, with good weather.

Yesterday I didn't really do much. Watched the football match, which we woooon! Yay! :) Wasn't a particularly good match as we won with an own goal but hey! Wore my Lampard shirt while I watched. Hehe.

Watched Grease 2 last night and I loved it. *lol* Michael & Stephanie were *wub* ^_^ so cute. 'I want a cooool rider!' I keep listening to the songs today. Haha.

Haven't done much today either except we've just had BBQ food for tea, with strawberries and cherries for pudding. Yum yum. I've gotta help out at a Year 6 open evening tomorrow evening... woohoo... lmao should be quite boring! But hey it's gotta be done.

xxx

Exams are finished noooow. Yay! Untill next year anyway... had Philosophy today with 3 different modules. Me and Jo were revising all morning as she was panicking. Got in there and could read through the paper as the sun was shining on it. I saw the words 'Plato' and 'cave' and was like 'YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS' inside my head. Hehe. The red module went great, except I had to write about meta-ethics but oh well.

The orange module went pretty well. The problem of evil came up too which I love doing, I'd revised it well too. I also did religious experience which wasn't bad.

The yellow module was the worst. Utilitarianism and Natural Law. I didn't know what to write really so just threw in loads of philosopher's and their views.

Hope I've done alright anyway.

xxx

Just had my driving lesson. To be honest, at first I wasn't in the mood. I wasn't concentrating and Jean noticed. I got into it during the second hour though. She took me into Whitley and boy does that place have roundabouts! That's what we were basing it on today anyway. So I did quite well she said considering it was my third lesson. I can now stop!! Wahey, always helps. And I'm remembering to put the clutch down all the time when stopping/starting.

I was proud with what I did today. :) I'm feeling a little more confident and it was a good lesson.

xxx

    <lj:music>Wilson Phillips - Hold On</lj:music>

Had my Tech exam this morning. The first paper went pretty well I think... filled my design page with absolutely loads of drawings and annotation which is what my teacher told me to do. Leave no blank space. Hehe. We had a small break in between to go to the toilet or whatever... sat back down after for my second paper. To cut a long story short, we were all sat there for half an hour because they either couldn't find the papers or didn't have them in the first place! They were so unorganised. Argh. Oh well, at least it's over with. Only one more exam now which is Philosophy on Thursday afternoon.

I'm kind've worrying about it though as there's SO much to learn. It's 100% exam so it all works down to this exam. We have to write 12 mini essays in 3 hours so my hand is going to drop off. It's my favourite subject and I'd love to do it at Uni. So ya know, am wanting a good grade. Lol. Oh well, I'm gonna chill and not worry too much.

Am driving again tonight, it's my third lesson. I'm just playing over in my head how to start the car up safely and how to stop! Which always helps. I'm telling ya... the clutch really isn't my best friend. Jean said we're basing this lesson on roundabouts I think which I can't stand but heeey. Gotta try em' sometime. Wonder where she'll take me this time...

Hardcore Philosophy revision tomorrow just so I'm a little more confident. Also, well done to anyone who's had exams today and good luck to everybody who has more to come! (including me... wahey...)

xxx

    <lj:music>Black Eyed Peas - Pump It</lj:music>

Just an update on what I've been doing since Tuesday. Not much really... from Wednesday till Friday I've been doing hardcore Philosophy revision. Haha. Over the weekend Robbie and Jack went camping with my Dad and me and my Mum did the Race For Life on Sunday. It had an amazing atmosphere, of over 3000 women just running and walking for their loved ones. Very touching. Got my medal at the end of it, and my leg was hurting but oh well.

Today me and Katherine went into school for a Philosophy session with Mrs Shields. For once, I was actually listening to her. She wasn't too bad, but her spelling is still awful. We were talking about ethical statements and her example was 'The ice caps are melting because we are polluting the planet'. However... she spelt it is... 'The ice cups are melting because we are polutting the plant'. *lol* It was well funny at the time and me and Katherine couldn't stop giggling. The heat must've got to us as it was absolutely boiling. This lad went past me today too shouting 'She went out with my brother! Lucy Baker ennit?!' I had been out with his brother... in Year 7 and Year 9 but they were 2 mistakes because he two timed me. Lmao. Oh well, I liked Jamie at the time. All is finished with.

I've got a Tech exam tomorrow in the morning for 3 hours. So I've been trying to revise my materials. I must say, it's pretty boring to be honest though. I think I know a fair amount anyway so I'm not worrying too much. I've also got my third driving lesson tomorrow evening which I'm looking forward to. :)

That's about it really that's happened. Good luck to absolutely everybody with exams I know, GCSE's and A Level's. You'll all do fab. Just believe in yourself.

xxx

Yes it can!!!

Just been on my 2nd driving lesson, and it was even better than last weeks. I love being in control of the wheel, it's such a good feeling. I feel so much more confident too, as we went over stopping and I get it now.

She made me drive around loads of circuits, to somewhere I didn't even recognise. It was just great, I stopped well... only stalled twice in the whole 2 hours. Went around roundabouts again, and along the main roads. Did traffic lights and went down narrow roads where I had to drive around other cars. Was just amazing. I love it. :)

I even drove myself home! :D Woo! Mum saw me parking and she came out to see. Lmao. Jean told me to give myself a mark out of ten after the lesson and I said nine because I don't wanna get over confident. She gave me a 10 because she said I deserved and I'd worked bloody hard.

So, yea. I'm really proud of myself and am really chuffed at how much I got through today.

xxx

Today, I thought things couldn't get any worse. I got up, and basically to cut a long story short I threw up all over the stairs (yep! gross!) and then again a little while later. Had mild diarrhea too. (even more gross! sorry!) Anyway, think it was something I ate. I was getting all worked up because I had two exams today and I was panicking about being sick at school. Headed outside anyway... and yep, you guessed it! It was raining. Just my luck, but it was the least of my worries at that time.

Got to school, was ok... gave my Art exam file in so that's completely done. Had Geography exam in the morning, was two 1 and a half hour papers, so we had a 10 minute break in between. They went ok, except I didn't finish the first one and the second was harder. I tried to blag my way through it. Also, my mum had rang the school up and they'd sat me at the back of the hall in case I needed to chuck again! Lovely...

Had Critical Thinking last which was 3 hours solid, and we only finished at 5 past 4! Mum came to pick me up at 4 though so was good. To be honest, I think the paper went really well. I understood the questions, was able to understand the resources and I finished it all with 5 minutes to spare.

I feel fine now, so I do think it was something I ate or possibly nerves although I've never been sick before because of that... oh well, over with now.

Just had a shower so feel nice and refreshed, am probably gonna watch a DVD later or something. Might ask if we can get a Chinese. ^_^ Sorry for blabbing on anyway.

xxx

Omg!! First driving lesson and it was soooo great! It went amazingly well! I'm so proud. Jean said I was brilliant. :)

Was meant to just be stopping, starting, driving a little distance and parking. Instead, she made me do things I'm not supposed to do until later because she said I was a fast learner. :D

I drove around in the rain, I went over a mini roundabout and a big one (my biggest fear! hate em'!), I drove around 2 horses... randomly, and got to 30mph and into 2nd gear! She said she wouldn't have let me go into 2nd gear if she hadn't of thought I was capable. So that must be good. :)

Am well chuffed. Mum's dead pleased too, and thankyou Gem for having confidence in me and for telling me I'd be fine. :) You were right, again... haha.

xxx

    <lj:music>Bachman Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet</lj:music>

Yesterday... I didn't really do much, so there's nothing interesting to share. Was in a pretty hormonal mood so was probably a bit off.

Today I went into school for half of my Art exam. It was absolutely chucking it down this morning, so my Art book got a bit wet, not including me... was lucky to get a seat on the bus. Went into the Sixth Form centre and met up with Tiff and Emma. We went to the exam early to get ourselves prepared. Basically, it went really well. I've completely finished the foreground (which I thought would take longer) and I left at about ten past one as I'd finished for the day. All I need to do tomorrow is the background (which won't take long) and then add little extras if need be.

Went out to the bus stop to go home, realised it was BLOODY CHUCKING IT DOWN AGAIN!! This time it was miles worse. I was stood at the bus stop for an hour in the pouring rain because I'd missed the one before. Grr. My feet were soaking as I have holes in my shoes *rolls eyes* and my Art book got even more wet. I was drenched and freezing cold, and my umbrella kept turning inside out so I kept swearing to myself! The other guy next to me must've thought I was a right weirdo. Finally, at quarter past 2!!... a bus came. Got another one from Savacentre and went home.

Had a shower to warm myself up... couldn't feel my toes! Lol. Went food shopping with Mum and there was a navy helicopter in the car park on show. For their charity I think... got a picture on my phone as it was pretty cool.

Came online and checked my emails. Miss Sparks emailed me back, as I sent her an essay for her to mark, as she said she would... and that it's good revision. She's marked it, and she asked if I wanted to pick it up or if I wanted it sent home! Lmao. Bless her, like I'd expect her to send it to me. I'm picking it up tomorrow after my Art exam. Probably done rubbish on it as it's Meta Ethics, but I had to try as I'm rusty on that topic.

I didn't realise this blog would be so long... I'm trying to do Geography revision but am getting nowhere as it's so incredibly boring!

Tomorrow's going to be quite a busy day, I've got my other half of my Art exam, I've got to make sure I get a coursework checklist from Mr Wilson. At Lunch, I've got to get my essay from Miss Sparks and I've got to get my coursework grade from Mr Morris for my Tech. Then I'm going home after lunch, and I'll probably do a little revision. Then I've got my first driving lesson from 5-7 (YAY!!) and then Lost is on later on. Oh well, I'll cope. Haha. Nobody's going to read this anyway because it's too long, but hey... gets it off my mind so I can take in Geography notes... (or not!)

xxx

Well, today is Saturday... but not much is happening. Was going to be Chloe & Barney's wedding in roleplay, except Holby.tv still isn't wooorking.

Might look through some Geography notes later on if I can be bothered...

Watched Big Brother Live last night as it was late and there was nothing on. I've changed my mind, Sezer is cool at the moment and Shahabaz was SO annoying! He kept having strops and was just not listening to what Richard was saying. He even made Dawn cry. It's a shame he can't be voted off...

xxx

Yes that's right... you get more L&P quotes. *rolls eyes* Well, Sims 2 isn't working and Geography's boring me. I'm taking a break.

Bringing Up Baby

Lara: That’s better… how’s the kid?

Patrick: Kicking and screaming, oh it’s a girl.

Lara: Really? How’d ya tell? *Smirks*

Colette: Patrick the Obs Reg is coming.

Lara: Sounds like the cavalry.

Patrick: A change from us cowboys… better get em’ up to speed.

Lara: Good one… *To Dillon*

Patrick: She’s fairly stable, kids fine and I think she’s still bleeding, so over to you.

----------

Patrick: Well that was pretty slick Doc…

Lara: Well I had a bit of theatre time back in Africa, paid to make tracks.

Patrick: What, you were operating over there?

Lara: No I got my fellowship before I went out, but I used to do a bit of moonlighting in the Obs ward, well… had to actually. *Leans against door*

Patrick: So that’d make you a Miss Stone, instead of a plain old Doctor?

Lara: Yea, well if you’re a man everyone assumes that you’re a doctor, if you’re a woman, everyone assumes you’re not, so I kept the Doctor bit.

Patrick: So why’d you give it up? Surgery I mean.

Lara: Well, I love it… it’s the routine stuff that got me. Ya know, hernia… viragos veins, hernia, viragos veins… and here I am! In search of adventure, romance and a Reg’s job in the emergency department, so I wish you’d hurry up and get that Consultant’s post.

Patrick: Making way for the younger ones then…

Lara: Precisely! *Smiles flirtily and goes into resus*
